The Chickasaw Summer Arts Academy is an intensive two-week fine arts academy. The academy offers a unique opportunity for students to develop their creative potential in such fine arts areas as vocal music, dance, theatre, visual arts, creative writing, video production, photography, textile design and music composition.
All students are invited to audition; however, ages 13-19 are required to attend an audition to be eligible for acceptance into the academy. The auditions help the coordinators assess the individual ability of each student for better placement within the academy.
The academy is housed at East Central University in Ada. Students ages 13 through 19, living outside the Ada area, have the option to stay on campus as space allows. While Chickasaw students have priority, all students are encouraged to audition.
Applicants must submit a CD, DVD, written essay and/or digital images for portfolios.
